❓WHAT IS A RESEARCH COTTAGE?

Research Cottage is a weekend-long event that aims to connect doctoral researchers from across the schools of Aalto University by gathering them to a cottage environment to work on research-related skills. The main program will consist of a hackathon-style competition, where you will work in a multidisciplinary team, producing a research proposal and presenting it to a panel of expert judges. In addition, you’ll get to participate in workshops aimed at developing relevant skills, and of course spend a weekend with friends in an idyllic setting surrounded by Finnish nature.

📍 WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?

The event starts at 17:00 on Friday, August 26th, and lasts until 12:00 on Sunday, August 28th. It takes place at the Serena Cottage Village in Northern Espoo (Tornimäentie 10), which you can reach with public transportation (e.g. bus 236 from Leppävaara).

💶HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The price of the event is 32 euros, covering two nights of accommodation at the Serena Cottage Village, as well as lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast ingredients for Saturday and Sunday.
